Bio

Shannon Emery Lee (born April 19, 1969) is an American actress, martial artist, businesswoman, and singer. She is the daughter of legendary martial artist and actor Bruce Lee and Linda Lee Cadwell, and the younger sister of the late actor Brandon Lee. Through her father, she is the granddaughter of Cantonese opera singer Lee Hoi-chuen.

Born in Santa Monica, California, Shannon spent part of her early childhood in Hong Kong before returning to the United States following her father's untimely death in 1973. She pursued higher education at Tulane University in New Orleans, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in vocal performance and participated in various musicals, operas, and concerts.

Continuing her father's legacy, Shannon trained in Jeet Kune Do, the martial art founded by Bruce Lee, under his students Richard Bustillo and Ted Wong. She also studied Taekwondo with Tan Tao-liang, Wushu with Eric Chen, and kickboxing under Benny Urquidez.

In 2020, Shannon authored the book Be Water, My Friend: The Teachings of Bruce Lee, which delves into her father's philosophies and how they can be applied to modern life . She continues to advocate for the responsible portrayal of martial arts and Asian culture in media, and actively works to expand her father's legacy through various platforms.

Proficiency in martial arts is the practice of keeping centered and skillfully responsive under the direst of circumstances: the threat of physical harm.
