Robert W. Dallmann is a Christian minister, martial artist, and author, best known for co-authoring The Definitive History of Bushido Kai with Rev. Robert F. Heisner. This work chronicles the development of Bushido Kai, a martial arts system that integrates Christian faith with traditional karate practices.
Born in upstate New York, Dallmann experienced a transformative spiritual awakening in December 1983, leading him to embrace Christianity. Since then, he has dedicated his life to ministry, engaging in various outreach programs, including homeless support in New York City, prison ministry, international missions, and evangelistic events. His commitment to spreading the Christian faith is evident in his diverse ministerial endeavors.
Dallmann began his martial arts training in January 1984 under the tutelage of Rev. Robert F. Heisner, the founder of Bushido Kai. He achieved a Fifth Degree Black Belt in this system, which uniquely blends elements from various martial arts disciplines, including Shotokan, Aiki-Jitsu, Bo-Jitsu, Itosu Ryu, Kyokushin Kai, Wado Ryu, and Tae Kwon Do.
In collaboration with Rev. Heisner, Dallmann co-authored The Definitive History of Bushido Kai, a book that documents the origins and evolution of the Bushido Kai martial arts system. The book delves into how Rev. Heisner, after attaining black belts in multiple martial arts, founded Bushido Kai to merge his martial arts expertise with his Christian faith. Dallmann's role was pivotal in compiling, editing, and writing the content, drawing from his extensive experience and close association with Rev. Heisner.
Beyond his literary contributions, Dallmann is actively involved in the "Warriors of the Sword" ministry, an evangelistic martial arts outreach program. This initiative uses martial arts demonstrations as a platform to share the Christian gospel, aiming to inspire and uplift communities through faith and discipline.
