Visualization is basically the process of making a movie in your mind. You want to see yourself in many different situations, using your martial arts skills or your de-escalation skills to walk away from specific conflicts victoriously. The key to successful visualization is that you always see yourself being victorious. You don’t want to visualize yourself screwing up or making mistakes. Visualizing yourself losing or messing up, is like practicing your martial arts skills incorrectly, over and over again.

Focus on making yourself better, not thinking you are better.
A black belt is nothing more than a piece of cloth. Your ultimate goal should not be to earn a black belt, but to be a black belt. Being a black belt is a state of mind—a way of life.

Never respond to an angry person with a fiery comeback, even if he deserves it...Don't allow his anger to become your anger.
When someone stabs you in the back and then apologizes, accept the apology, but don't give him the knife back to do it again!
