Scott Berkun is an American author, speaker, and former technology manager renowned for his insights into creativity, design, leadership, and innovation.​

Early Life and Education

Berkun was born and raised in Queens, New York City. He pursued studies in philosophy, computer science, and design at Carnegie Mellon University. ​

Career

From 1994 to 2003, Berkun worked at Microsoft, contributing to projects such as Internet Explorer versions 1.0 through 5.0, Windows, and MSN. His roles included usability engineer, lead program manager, and UI design evangelist.  In 2003, he left Microsoft to focus on writing and speaking. Between 2010 and 2012, he led an engineering team at WordPress.com, responsible for features like Jetpack and Publicize.
