Tekko

What is Tekko?

Tekko are traditional Okinawan weapons that resemble brass knuckles or knuckle dusters. They are typically made from wood or metal and are designed to be worn over the knuckles. The tekko can be used to enhance the power of punches and strikes, making them more effective in combat.

Historically, tekko were adapted from everyday farming tools, such as horseshoe nails or stirrups, and were used by Okinawan martial artists for self-defense. They are often associated with the martial art of Kobudo, which involves the use of various traditional weapons.

As with any weapon, training is essential to use tekko effectively and safely. Additionally, it's important to be aware of and comply with local laws and regulations regarding the possession and use of such items.
